The head coach of Chelsea Football Club, Enzo Maresca has given his verdict about his team’s exit from the fourth round of the FA Cup in the hands of Brighton and Hove Albion.

The defeat saw Chelsea fans bid goodbye to any hope of seeing their club win a domestic trophy this season after they witnessed one of their worst performances under Enzo Maresca this season. Cole Palmer scored the opening goal for the Blues in the first five minutes after which Rutter and Mitoma equalised and put Brighton in front to win the clash.

What did Enzo Maresca say about Chelsea’s exit from the FA Cup?

The Italian was speaking after in a post-match press conference where he confirmed that it was a disappointing result for the Blues but he said they can take positive from the fact that the club can now focus on the Premier League and the Conference League.

“Being out of the FA Cup, it’s a shame. No doubt. If there is something positive, we can be focused on the Premier League and the Conference League. Hopefully we can continue our journey there.”

Chelsea will have a chance to redeem their image when they face Brighton again in the Premier League on Friday, February 14, 2025 as they continue in their quest to finish in the top four of the end of the season.
